As leaders in the field of aesthetic medicine education for over a decade, Harley Academy is thrilled to combine our data-driven knowledge with new technology. We’ve delivered a free app that’s evidence-based and AI-powered, and that clinicians truly enjoy using! 

From interactive tools and simulations, to bitesize learning that helps you achieve your aesthetic education goals, we welcome you to this exciting new resource.

Designed for healthcare professionals exploring whether aesthetic medicine is for them, and aesthetic practitioners at any stage of their career.

What is Harley Academy.ai? 

The Harley Academy Aesthetics Learning System - also referred to by its website address, HarleyAcademy.ai - is our free aesthetic education resource for medical professionals.

This medical education technology was inspired by, and based on the published research behind Duolingo. 

Duolingo is the world’s leading language-learning app, making the Harley Academy Aesthetics Learning System the “Duolingo for aesthetic medicine”, if you will.

We’ve translated the language of medical aesthetics into easy-to-follow, engaging and evidence-based education, delivered via a structured pathway.

Harley Academy Aesthetics Learning System overview

“The best thing about Harley Academy.ai is that it's completely free of charge to create an account and start learning aesthetic medicine,” shares Dr Tristan.

“You set your goal, which could be the core pathway or learning more about a specific subject, for example anatomy, complications, advanced toxin, or regenerative medicine. Then, based on that goal, you’ll go on a structured learning journey. You’ll engage in content and develop your knowledge through various types of modules. Along the way you can explore mobile-friendly features and different learning styles as you move through each topic.”

He continues, “Update your goals as you move through the system, to unlock more topics to explore. You can also engage with other users to start or join conversations, for added peer-to-peer insights. Whatever your digital learning style, you’ll find something to suit. There’s also dynamic longer form content, for when you really want to do a deep dive.

“Plus, each month we publish the latest research relevant for clinicians, and we make that available to you in fun and interesting ways.” 

Free and Harley Pro subscription options

The Harley Academy Aesthetics Learning System is free to join and this ‘freemium’ option holds extensive educational opportunities and tools for aesthetic practitioners. 

There is also a premium version - Harley Pro - paid for via a monthly subscription, which gives you access to an incredible array of additional features and courses. Harley Pro is the new home of the Global Evidence Matrix (GEM©), which has been expanded to include even more evidence-based insights for injectors of all levels.

This Harley Pro option is also provided to Harley Academy Level 7 and International Advanced Aesthetics Diploma trainees, free of charge, for 12 months. Any trainees who previously accessed GEM© via Comma won’t lose out - in fact, you’re gaining even more content!

As Dr Tristan explains, “Harley Pro is where you'll be able to access the entire Global Evidence Matrix injectables library. You'll find some cutting edge simulations, and you'll find a variety of tools to help you thrive and become successful in aesthetic medicine.

Research access

It’s important to keep on top of the latest evidence, but reading research papers can be an arduous task. You can also spend ages reading a study, only to be left feeling like you’re not sure what it actually means for you as a practitioner. Our Research access, through an integration with PubMed, allows you to explore the latest industry-specific research in a way that suits you. From AI summaries to audio versions, or traditional access, you choose your preferred approaches. At the end, you can take a quiz to ensure better comprehension.

Technique Coach and Technique Simulator

The Technique resources take the Global Evidence Matrix to the next level. Engage with GEM© in accessible new ways, set by experience, so you’re always aligned to and increasing your competency. Improve your science-backed approach to fillers, biostimulators and - coming soon - neurotoxins - with this growing matrix of injectable techniques. Plus take our new GEM© course, which is included in your Harley Pro subscription, to deepen your understanding even further.

Clinical Scenarios and Simulations 

These aspects of the Harley Pro Aesthetics Learning System experience allow you to act out scenario-based situations in AI-powered simulations. There are challenging patient interactions to improve your interpersonal skills. Plus test yourself with timed practice events such as complications scenarios, to help you prepare for situations practical training may not entirely prepare you for. Especially where there’s a time pressure involved.

CPD Diary 

When you’re a Harley Pro user, you’ll have your CPD points from using this Aesthetics Learning System automatically calculated, as you go. All of this is saved minute-by-minute into a dedicated CPD diary feature which you can export for your Appraisals and Revalidation. You’d be amazed how quickly the minutes spent on this app add up and all without you needing to keep track of them!

How do I join the Harley Academy Aesthetics Learning System?

As before, you can access this new resource as a free user, or as a premium Harley Pro subscriber. For both options, you need to first register on the site.

IMPORTANT: If you’re a current Harley Academy Level 7 trainee, there is a slightly different pathway and our Student Support team will inform you of this via email. For all other users, please follow these steps below.

How to create your free account:

• Visit https://harleyacademy.ai
• Click on GET STARTED FREE
• Complete the required fields with your name, email address and choose a password to use for this site, tap the circle to confirm you agree to the terms and conditions, then click Create Account
• You’ll then be emailed a confirmation to the email address you just submitted. Open this email and click on the Confirm email address button
• This will take you back to the site, with a screen that says Welcome to Harley Academy. You’ll have been automatically logged in so the next step is to click on the Let’s Get Started button
• Move through the next screens to complete your basic profile, then set your learning goals
• At this point, you can choose to continue your onboarding with a platform tutorial, or start learning.

How to upgrade to Harley Pro:

How did HarleyAcademy.ai come about?

The way people consume content is changing, and aesthetic education needs to keep up. We wanted to ensure our audience was genuinely engaged in order to truly take in what we’re teaching.

As a huge proponent and early adopter of artificial intelligence (AI), Dr Tristan Mehta saw this technology as an opportunity. As the founder of Harley Academy and co-creator of the UK’s first regulated postgraduate aesthetics qualification, the Level 7 in injectables, this led to his next entrepreneurial venture.

“As you may know, we've been in education in aesthetic medicine for over 10 years,” he explains. “We've seen a huge transformation in how individuals want to consume information, how people's education preferences have changed, and certainly how their attention span has changed. From watching long form videos to now watching much more shorter engaging content.

“We've also seen published research from education giants like Duolingo, who show that spaced repetition and dynamic mobile content leads to better retention of knowledge. ”

Use of AI in the Aesthetics Learning System

By applying certain aspects of AI to the knowledge Harley Academy has acquired over the past decade, and to evidence-based, published information, Dr Tristan found that the experience of actually learning aesthetic medicine could be ‘gameified’. 

Essentially, broken down into a variety of different formats, suitable for shorter attention spans, on-the-go learning, and anyone who prefers non-standard learning styles.

This would produce a more tailored, enjoyable curriculum, without having to worry about hallucinations or factual inaccuracies. Harley Academy would control the central source information for all educational content whilst AI handled how it was presented.
